Sites & snippet
Verify your connection
Once the snippet is on your site, adfit confirms the connection for you, usually within a few seconds of the first page load. If it doesn't connect, you can run a check that tells you exactly what to fix.
adfit detects it automatically
The fastest way to connect is simply to visit your own site. The snippet sends adfit a signal on the first page load, and the status flips to Connected on its own, with no button to press.
Open your site in a new tab
After installing the snippet, open your site once in a new browser tab. adfit detects the snippet automatically.
Watch the status update
On the site's Overview, the status changes from Awaiting connection to Connected. This usually takes a few seconds.
You can leave the page
adfit keeps checking in the background. If you navigate away before the status updates, it'll still be up to date next time you open the site.
Run a connection check
If the status doesn't turn to Connected on its own, you don't have to guess why. On the site's Overview, choose Check now under Run a connection check. adfit loads your site, scans it, and tells you whether the snippet is found and whether anything is blocking it.
The check returns one of these results:
“The snippet is on your page”
We found the snippet in your site's HTML and it isn't blocked. If the status still says awaiting connection, open your site once in a new tab to send the first signal.
“The snippet wasn't found”
We loaded your site but couldn't find the snippet in the HTML. Make sure it's pasted into the <head> and that your site is published.
“The snippet is being blocked”
The snippet is on the page but a plugin is deferring or blocking it. The check names the plugin where it can.
“We couldn't reach your site”
We couldn't load your site to check it. Make sure it's reachable over HTTPS, then try again.
“No domain to check”
This site doesn't have a domain on file to scan.
The two checks work together
The automatic detection tells you that you're connected; the connection check tells you why you're not. If a result mentions a blocking plugin or the <head>, head to Troubleshooting.
Still not connecting?
The most common reasons are a caching or performance plugin holding the snippet back, or a content-security policy on your site blocking adfit's host. Both are covered in Troubleshooting.
